Joe Budden has seemingly revealed how much money he’s earned as a podcaster, and the given figure may surprise you.
During the most recent episode of the Joe Budden Podcast, the New Jersey rep claimed to have grossed upwards of $7 million during his time as a podcaster, pocketing an estimated $4 million during that time.
“Off podcasting, off of this?” Budden began while touching on the topic of his profits. “All together in the whole 10 years? About $4M… Gross is $7M.”
The 43-year-old gave context to how he came to that figure, attributing much of the revenue earned by the Joe Budden Podcast to their deals with Spotify and other digital platforms. “Early on we were doing it for free,” Budden said of the venture’s humble beginnings.
“Then we hit a little lick, Spotify. Then n***as left, the building crumbled a little bit, and my friends came and saved the day. Probably about $3.5-$4.5. When the former rapper’s JBP cohosts suggested that he was not being transparent about his earnings due to the perceptively low figure, he remained adamant that he was being truthful. “I’m serious,” he said. “Why do y’all think I’m lying?”
Dubbed “The Podfather,” Budden has enjoyed a successful run in his foray into media, becoming one of the most popular talking heads in Hip-Hop today. The former rapper also encouraged those in his audience attepting to break into the media realm to focus on consistency and quality, using himself as an example. “Listen, years of hard work, y’all could do it, too,” Budden told viewers.
“It’s not unachievable. Like, this is not unimaginable if you work hard, keep your head down to the finish line man, and just focus on the content and what you need to do… $4.5M.”
